Jacqueline E. Brevard brings more than 20 years of experience as a global ethics and compliance professional in the pharmaceutical industry.

She is Senior Advisor at GEC Risk Advisory, a global risk, governance, ethics, compliance, cyber and crisis advisory firm, serving executives, boards, investors, and advisors to business, non-profits and government.

Client assignments include integrity program development and evaluation, codes of conduct, customized education from the boardroom to the shop floor, enterprise and specific risk assessments and crisis planning.

Professional Experience and Qualifications

Ms. Brevard, as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Merck & Co., Inc., has direct experience with CIA implementation, including: (i) oversight and management of the Company’s response to specific CIA requirements; (ii) oversight and management of the Ethics and Compliance Team; (iii) preparation and presentation of quarterly reports to the Board and the Company’s Monitor; and (iv) certification of the Company’s Compliance Program.

Additionally, Ms. Brevard, in her capacity as Senior Advisor, GEC Risk Advisory, LLC, has completed an engagement providing specific advice and guidance on Patient Assistance Programs, Speaker Programs, Medical Science Liaisons and the Sunshine Act to a global pharma company.

Currently, in addition to her role as Senior Advisor at GEC Risk, Ms. Brevard is a Senior Advisor to the Ethics and Compliance Initiative (ECI), acting as Subject Matter Expert on a variety of engagements; and a Program Director for The Conference Board, where she provides leadership, guidance and intellectual direction to the Global Business Conduct Council.

Previously Ms. Brevard was Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Merck & Co., Inc., developing and successfully implementing the first comprehensive Global Ethics and Compliance Program for a top-tier global pharmaceutical company, driving Merck to a leadership position in organizational ethics and compliance.

While at Merck, Ms. Brevard developed and published three succeeding editions of the company’s global code of conduct, keeping pace with emerging risks and new developments in the industry. Ms. Brevard also implemented one of the first companywide “Speak Up” programs in corporate America. Reflecting Ms. Brevard’s influence in the field, she was cited by Ethisphere magazine in 2009 as “One of the 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics.”
